On September 23, Korea University Sejong Campus held the 'Jeong Gyunhwa Research Fund Commitment and Award Ceremony' at Kang Sudol Lounge, Seokwon Hall. The commitment ceremony was attended by Emeritus Professor Jeong Gyunhwa, alumni Kang Panmuk, Park Jungpil, Cho Younggyun, and Lee Donghan who contributed to the Jeong Gyunhwa Research Fund, as well as Jung Kyueon, Dean of the College of Global Business, Lee Byunghee, Vice President for Student Affairs, and professors from the department of Global Business.

The Jeong Gyunhwa Scholarship Fund totaled 170 million won, of which 110 million won was disbursed as scholarships. The remaining 65 million won was converted into a research fund, and with continued contributions from alumni, the 'Jeong Gyunhwa Research Fund' was established with a total of 120 million won.

This research fund will be utilized as financial support to assist the academic growth of young researchers, and through acknowledgment citations in internationally renowned academic journals, the significance of Korea University Sejong Campus and the research fund will be widely recognized.

Professor Yang Heetae of the department of Global Business was selected as the first recipient of the research fund. In addition to the internal research funding for new faculty members, the research fund will provide 5 million won per semester over two semesters, totaling 10 million won. Through this support, it is expected to guarantee stable research activities for early-career researchers and establish a foundation for the international dissemination of academic achievements.
